Magic on North York Moors Railway

30th Oct 2008

Guests visiting North Yorkshire hotels will get to see Magic on North Yorkshire Moors Railway this weekend.

The popular attraction is organising a “wicked weekend” on Saturday and Sunday featuring a wide variety of events including fire juggling, birds of prey and besom-making.

The latter – better known as making a witch’s broom – is taking place at Pickering, near our Malton Hotels, while birds of prey demonstrations will be given by Ben Potter at Levisham on both days.

Goathland, which appeared as Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter movie, will play host to the Danger Boys street theatre on both days which will include fire-juggling, unicycling and ladder balancing, while at Grosmont there will be a guest appearance of magician Alfonso Subterfuge.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway general manager Philip Benham told the Scarborough Evening News: “We hope that the fun and entertainment we have lined up will give added appeal to what is a great day out. Trains will be calling at all stations on the line with some being extended to Whitby and back over the weekend.”
